EXIT festival (Novi Sad)

Officially proclaimed the ‘’Best Major European Festival’’ in 2014. by EU Festival Awards in Groningen, EXIT is an internationally awarded music festival, held annually at the monumental XVIII century Petrovaradin Fortress on the river Danube in Novi Sad, Vojvodina. With highly acclaimed participating artists from all over the world performing on multiple stages, it is one of the most musically diverse festivals in Serbia, with wide spectrum of genres covered, including, but not limited to: pop, rock, dance, electronica, hip hop, reggae and metal.

Music Mountain Fest (Divčibare)

A brainchild of nature and music enthusiasts, Music Mountain Fest is held on one of the most beautiful mountains in Western Serbia – Divčibare, right on the newly constructed ski slope at the Crni Vrh peak. Besides the enjoying the musical program and assorted locally prepared foods, you can participate in sports activities such as zip-line, yoga, crossfit, orienteering and many more. The festival is also kid-friendly, rich in content directed towards the youngest attendants.

Love Fest (Vrnjačka Banja)

Held in one of the most popular, and certainly most visited Serbian spa town, Vrnjačka Banja, Love Fest started as an electronic music festival, but has grown each year and expanded its program to also include hip hop and rock. The site of festival is City Park, lying on land infused with mineral springs. The town itself is uniquely beautiful and offers a large selection of tourist attractions and ethnic restaurants offering quality food, guaranteeing a fulfilled experience during your stay.

Belgrade Beer Fest

Belgrade Beer Fest is the most attended beer-themed festival in Southeastern Europe – during the 5 days of festival, an estimate of 500.000 people visits! Selected by UK’s The Independent among the 20 must-see events worldwide, it boasts more than 60 brands of beer every year, including domestic, imported and artisan beers, all types. Music lineup follows that with a good mix of the best regional performers and global stars alike, covering all the most popular musical genres.

Nišville Jazz Festival

Entitled the ‘’European Face of Serbia’’ by the New Europe magazine, the official newsletter of the European Union, Nišville is the most visited Eastern European jazz festival, held every year inside the walls of Niš Fortress, an ancient cultural heritage site dating from the Roman times. Soon to celebrate 25 years anniversary, the festival already has rich history, having been graced by the presence of jazz greats such as Solomon Burke, Billy Cobham, Donald Byrd & Benny Golson in the past years, this festival devotes equal attention to all contemporary jazz styles and interpretations, as much for the roots and standards, which also gives festival a distinct multicultural character. The festival also honors the memory of famous jazz and romani music singer from Niš, the late Šaban Bajramović.

Guča festival

This festival is all about the traditional sounds of trumpet, enjoying the famous Serbian specialties, barbecue, rakija and unique euphoric atmosphere. Nearly a million of people from Serbia and abroad attend the festival each year, hosted by this small town in Dragačevo region in Western Serbia, set in the beautiful valley between the mountains Čemerno and Jelica, and the rivers Moravica and Zapadna Morava on the other side, and the duration of the festival is just the time of the year when the valley is the most alive.

Dani Piva (Zrenjanin)

This festival was founded in 1986. to honor the 240 year old beer making tradition of Zrenjanin, main center of the Serbian part of Banat region. It began as a city fair, which became bigger and more successful each year, and three decades later it has evolved to a world-class festival dedicated to beer. The festival is organized with two program types: one faithful to the traditional fair-like beginnings and complete focus on beer assortment, and the second one more on the modern and urban side, with busy schedule of concerts from regional top performers. 

Most Fest – Drinska Regata (Bajina Bašta)

Drinska Regata is the greatest and oldest event held on the river Drina, celebrating the days of old, when hearty rafters surmounted the rapids of the river, which ended when construction of the hydroelectric power plants began. The river Drina annual raft started in 1994, and since the 20th anniversary, it is a festival that lasts five days, with concerts from regional music performers, local market products such as honey, rakija and handicraft souvenirs, and activities like fish stew making competition, river Drina diving, while the main event is the fantastic 25 km raft on Drina, between the villages of Perućac and Rogačica.

Hillsup (Zlatibor)

Held in mid-July in the tourist resort on the beautiful mountain Zlatibor,  Hillsup festival uses the most pleasant time of the year on the mountainside to organize 3-day festival dedicated to domestic and regional rock, hip-hop and electro scene, with leading artists taking part. Attendants can also test their skill in the 3×3 streetball tournament, while there is also plenty of opportunity to get acquainted with the natural beauties of Zlatibor through the activities such as the mountain orienteering course. 

Zaječarska Gitarijada

Often reffered to as ’’Serbian Woodstock’’, Zaječarska Gitarijada is all about rocknroll. Held since 1966, it is the longest running rock festival in Serbia. The festival is visited by regional and worldwide legendary rock acts, but the main purpose since the festival’s conception is the competition part, where every year, a number of young rock bands compete for the awards of the crowd and the jury. Many of the winners from the festival’s long history went on to become highly acclaimed rock artists.

Belgrade Jazz Festival

Founded in 1971, Belgrade Jazz Festival had two very successful decades in 70s and 80s, when famous jazz musicians from all over the world played the festival, but then came the 15 year hiatus from 1990. to the ressurection of the festival in 2005. Since then, it can be said that Belgrade Jazz Festival rose back to its full glory, as it is giving Belgradeans and visitors the chance to hear and see the best of what today’s jazz has to offer, while of course also cherishing the historic roots and nurturing the century old jazz tradition.

Ring Ring festival (Belgrade)

Subtitled the “new music festival”, Ring Ring is dedicated to the new and avant-garde music, making a visit to this festival truly an unique music exploration experience. It recently celebrated 20th anniversary of providing a platform for domestic young artists to express themselves, while also putting up a laudable lineup of international avant-garde artists. From chamber ensembles, over free jazz right to the solo electronic improvisational pieces, Ring Ring guarantees to leave you both fascinated and perplexed by the whole audiovisual experience.

BEMUS (Belgrade)

BEMUS is the oldest classical music festival in Serbia, founded in 1969, and as such it enjoys status of an event of particular cultural importance for the city of Belgrade. With particular focus on local artists and their creative output, BEMUS owes its reputation primarily through presentations of the world’s most attractive ensembles and soloists such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Gothenburg, Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra, Munich and New York Philharmonic, and soloists such as Martha Argerich, Zubin Mehta and Leonidas Kavahos, to name a few.

Uranak (Srebrno Jezero)

Named after and held on the International Worker’s Day, and set on shores of the beautiful Silver Lake, an oxbow lake along the right bank of the river Danube in eastern Serbia and a popular tourist resort, this festival aims to use the springtime for intense partying and live performances from regional pop, rock, hip-hop and electronic dance artists, split between three stages. Great fun and relaxing by this gorgeous lake is guaranteed to refill your batteries!
